I am a sucker for Disney love stories
"I blame Disney for my high expectations of men!!" -Youtube commenter on this vid
You and me both, sister. Anyway, I'm in love with this song, not to mention the movie.
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
ah! :)

December 21, 2010
Here it is, the end of 2010.
This was by far the biggest cliche of a rollercoaster year I've ever had. Plenty of ups and downs. Tons of disappointment. Numerous failures. Way too much drama. However, I am choosing to focus on the positive aspects of my 2010 in this blog. This isn't a diary, after all.
So here we go, Courtney's 2010 list of Spectacularity (not officially a word yet. It'll happen):
-My friend Hana and I met our scavenger hunt/sticky note buddies, T & R (read one of my past blogs, watch the movie, or ask me about it. I've explained it too many times, and don't have time to write it out now--there's only a few hours left of the year, after all!). Anyway, we got some awesome friends right at the start of the new year, and are about to celebrate our one-year friendshipaversary with them!
-Hana and I became roomies!
-Concerts: BACKSTREET BOYS, Jordin Sparks, Barcelona, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head (whom I met!!), A bunch of screamo bands, She & Him (!!!), Enter Shikari.
-I crowd surfed for the first time!!!
-Moshed for the first time as well (twice at different screamo concerts), and got punched in the face...which I'm not sure why I included on my list of positives for the year, but I'm going to keep it on here.
Oh gosh...this doesn't even begin to cover the amazing year I had...but I need to go host a New Years party and am not in the creative mood I should be in for writing a blog. I may add to this later or may not, but either way, have a beautiful New Year. Here's to looking back fondly, and excitedly looking forward to the year ahead.
Happy 2011!

Wes Anderson
This guy is my favorite. His movies are incredibly original and have a very distinct feel and style to them, and their soundtracks are fantastic as well. I've come across some parody-type videos on youtube that people made. I love them:
If Wes Anderson made Spider-Man:
If he made Lord of the Rings. This one could be a little shorter...but I still like it:

Advice
Never, under any circumstances, ever let an emotionally unstable American thread your eyebrows. It will without a doubt be the worst $15 you ever spend, and there will be little to no noticeable difference between the way your eyebrows looked before the threading and how they look after. Also, after forking over the 15 dollars, you'll discover from the Indian woman that threaded your mom's eyebrows that threading is only taught by certain colleges in India, as it is an Indian alternative to waxing. And you will realize that there is no way that this depressed, blonde twenty-something that threaded your brows went to school in India just to get a job at a Brow Art stand in the middle of Alderwood Mall, No way.
End of rant.

Coconut Records
Those of you who know me well are probably aware of my negative attitude towards the one-man (band?), Owl City. I just don't see what the big deal about this (band?) is. Plus, it sounds pretty dang similar to The Postal Service (which is one of my favorite bands, so maybe that's why I care so much about not caring about Owl City?)
All this to say, I have discovered a one-man (band!) whose music I majorly enjoy: Coconut Records. This summer I have been exploring my love for Wes Anderson movies as well as Jason Schwartzman, who has been in many of Wes' films (Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and more). I was watching a youtube video in which the actor and director were discussing their favorite music and movies, and Jason mentioned his band. I looked up Coconut Records and FELL IN LOVE. It is currently my favorite band.
Here's some ear candy for you:
West Coast
Minding My Own Business
Any Fun
The Summer
It was so hard to just choose a handful, because all of his songs are amazing! Go check all of them out :)

P.S. I have been blogging a LOT, lately! You're welcome:)

It's that time of year again...
...time to say goodbye to friends leaving for college. This is undoubtedly the worst part of summer for me...and I still have over a month left until I go back to school!

At least this year I have learned to deal with friends leaving more maturely, unlike last August when I had a bawling fit every time one of my friends left. I looked like Dawson up there except 50 times worse. However, my best friend hasn't left yet so there's still time for me to bring on the tears and attractive puffy red face. Stay tuned.
